TAKING on a role made famous by Angelina Jolie means filling some pretty big shoes – but Alicia Vikander seems to have handled becoming Lara Croft in Tomb Raider with ease.
The Oscar-winning actress can be seen as the daring adventurer in a new teaser clip ahead of the first official trailer for the rebooted movie being dropped.

The 15 second trailer released yesterday showed Alicia getting stuck in to the action, running through a forest at high speed before pulling out a bow and arrow and taking aim at an enemy.
The Swedish actress is also seen jumping over a large tree branch before catching her leg and tumbling into a raging river below.
Cutting between the clips in red are the words Her Legend Begins before an arrow slices through the movie’s title.
A new poster featuring Alicia, 28, as Lara was also released yesterday, with the actress posing in a vest top and jeans with a sharp weapon in her hands.
With her back to the camera, she turns slightly to show off a cut on her cheek and a bandage around the top of her arm, proving the action movie will see Lara get into a series of scrapes yet again.
The first movie – based on the best-selling video game franchise of the same name – was released in 2001 and helped catapult Angelina, 42, to fame.

A sequel, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life, followed in 2003.
While fans are excited to see the reboot, Alicia, who won an Oscar in 2015 for her part in The Danish Girl, warned they will get a different version of Lara this time around.

She previously told Entertainment Weekly: “She has all the fierce, tough, curious, intelligent traits, but we’ve stripped away all of her experience.
“She hasn’t gone on an adventure just yet.”

Speaking of her predecessor, she added: “I was surprised that my mum knew what Tomb Raider was.
“That’s due to the fact that Angelina Jolie made Lara Croft such an icon.
“But this is a beautiful way of showing a very loved character from more angles.”
The movie is set for release in March 2018.
